How to Check & Add Hydraulic Fluid to Your Basta Boat Lift

Maintaining the correct hydraulic fluid level is an important part of routine Basta boat lift maintenance.

1. Lower the boat lift completely. Hydraulic fluid should only be added when the lift is fully lowered.
2. Locate the hydraulic reservoir. Open the boat lift power unit enclosure and locate the fluid reservoir.
3. Check the fluid level. With the lift fully lowered, the hydraulic fluid should be approximately 1 inch below the top of the reservoir.
4. Add fluid if necessary. Use only Basta-approved biodegradable hydraulic fluid.
5. Avoid overfilling. Fill to the manufacturer's recommended level.
6. Check operation. Raise the lift and verify that fluid remains visible in the bottom of the reservoir.

Important: If your boat lift frequently requires additional hydraulic fluid, inspect the system for possible leaks and consult Basta's maintenance instructions.

Basta Hydraulic Fluid Maintenance

Basta recommends checking hydraulic fluid levels regularly and replacing the biodegradable hydraulic fluid approximately every 3–5 years, depending on usage and operating conditions.

Regular hydraulic system maintenance helps support dependable operation and identify potential leaks or fluid-related issues.

For the best results, use manufacturer-approved hydraulic fluid and follow Basta's recommended maintenance procedures.
