How Does DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber Work?

The DampRid 14 oz Fresh Scent Hanging Moisture Absorber uses moisture-attracting crystals to draw excess water vapor from the surrounding air.

As moisture is absorbed, the crystals gradually dissolve and the collected liquid gathers in the bottom of the hanging bag.

This process helps reduce excess humidity and musty odors without requiring electrical power or a conventional dehumidifier.

When the crystals have completely dissolved, carefully remove the bag and replace it with a new DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber.

Important: The collected liquid can damage certain surfaces and metals if spilled. Keep the bag upright, avoid puncturing it, and follow the manufacturer's disposal instructions.

Why Use DampRid During Boat Storage?

During winterization and seasonal storage, boats may remain closed for weeks or months. Temperature fluctuations, trapped moisture, and limited airflow can create humid conditions inside enclosed cabins and lockers.

Using DampRid Fresh Scent Hanging Moisture Absorbers can help:

• Reduce excess humidity in enclosed spaces
• Control musty odors associated with dampness
• Help protect stored clothing and fabrics
• Limit conditions that encourage mold and mildew
• Manage moisture without electricity
• Support routine boat winterization and storage maintenance

For best results, address water leaks, dry wet surfaces, and maintain appropriate ventilation alongside moisture-control products.

How to Use DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber

1. Remove the DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber from its outer packaging.
2. Hang the bag securely in an appropriate enclosed space.
3. Allow the moisture-absorbing crystals to collect excess humidity from the air.
4. Check the bag periodically as the crystals dissolve and liquid accumulates.
5. Once the crystals have fully dissolved, carefully remove and dispose of the bag according to the manufacturer's instructions.
6. Replace with a new DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber as needed.

Keep the bag upright and away from children, pets, metal surfaces, and areas where collected liquid could spill onto sensitive materials.
