Constructed from marine-grade brass and copper, this 160-degree thermostat is designed to provide proper fit, operation, and temperature regulation for compatible Indmar engines.

Indmar Engine Compatibility

Important: This thermostat is not compatible with the Corvette LT1 engine. For the Corvette LT1, use Indmar Part #986034.

Replacing a 143°F Indmar Thermostat

Older Indmar engines originally equipped with a 143°F thermostat may be able to use this 160°F thermostat. Operating at 160°F can help promote more efficient fuel atomization and engine operation.

If converting an engine from a 143°F thermostat to a 160°F thermostat, make sure the engine is properly tuned for the change.

When Should You Replace a Marine Thermostat?

A thermostat that is worn, stuck, or damaged can prevent your marine engine from maintaining the correct operating temperature. Thermostat replacement is also recommended after an engine overheating event.
