How Does Kanberra Gel Air Purifier Work?

The Kanberra Gel Tea Tree Oil Air Purifier uses a passive evaporation process to release aromatic tea tree oils into the surrounding air.

As natural air movement passes over the exposed gel, the oils gradually disperse throughout the enclosed space, helping manage stale and musty odors.

Unlike electric air purifiers, Kanberra Gel does not require a fan, filter, or power source. It is a passive odor-control product and does not provide HEPA filtration or remove airborne particles.

The gel slowly evaporates over time, making it a convenient option for long-term odor management in enclosed spaces.

Pet Safety – Is Kanberra Gel Safe Around Dogs & Cats?

Kanberra Gel is marketed for use in homes and spaces with pets when used according to the manufacturer's instructions. However, tea tree oil can be harmful to dogs and cats if ingested or if animals are exposed improperly.

To use Kanberra Gel responsibly around pets:

• Keep the open container completely out of reach of dogs, cats, and other animals.
• Never allow pets to lick, eat, or come into direct contact with the gel.
• Do not apply the gel or its oils directly to pets, pet bedding, or their skin.
• Avoid placing the product in small, poorly ventilated spaces occupied by pets.
• Follow the manufacturer's instructions and precautions on the product label.
• If your pet shows signs of irritation or illness, remove the product and contact your veterinarian.

Important: Pet safety depends on proper placement and use. Kanberra Gel should not be described as universally safe or non-toxic to pets.

How to Use Kanberra Gel in Your Boat

1. Remove the lid according to the product instructions.
2. Place the open 8 oz Kanberra Gel Air Purifier upright on a stable, level surface.
3. Position it in an appropriate enclosed area, such as a boat cabin or storage locker.
4. Allow natural airflow to circulate around the container.
5. Check the gel periodically and replace the container when the gel has evaporated.

Keep the product away from children, pets, and sensitive surfaces, and follow all manufacturer instructions.

Kanberra Gel vs. Moisture Absorbers

Kanberra Gel and products such as DampRid or Dri-Z-Air serve different purposes.

Kanberra Gel Air Purifier:

• Uses a tea tree oil-based gel for odor control
• Helps freshen enclosed spaces
• Requires no electricity
• Does not collect moisture or reduce humidity directly

Moisture Absorbers:

• Use moisture-attracting materials such as calcium chloride
• Absorb water vapor from the air
• Help reduce excess humidity
• Require periodic replacement or refilling

For boats experiencing both dampness and musty odors, address moisture sources and ventilation in addition to using an odor-control product.
