Complete oil and filter service kit for Malibu M5 and M6 direct-injection marine engines equipped with the first-generation Hengst oil filter system. This kit includes 8 quarts of Mobil 1 5W-30 Full Synthetic Dexos engine oil and one Hengst E16H01 GEN1 cartridge oil filter.

The Hengst E16H01 oil filter was used on early Malibu M5 and M6 engines from the beginning of production in 2017 through approximately April/May 2020. If your engine was manufactured around the 2020 production changeover, verify the installed oil filter before ordering.

This oil change kit is designed for:

• Malibu Monsoon M5 engines with the GEN1 Hengst oil filter
• Malibu Monsoon M6 engines with the GEN1 Hengst oil filter
• Early M5 and M6 engines produced from 2017 through approximately April/May 2020
• Malibu M-Series applications using the Hengst E16H01 cartridge oil filter

GEN1 vs. GEN2 Malibu M5 & M6 Oil Filters

Malibu changed the cartridge oil filter used on M5 and M6 engines during approximately April/May 2020.

This kit is specifically for engines equipped with the GEN1 Hengst E16H01 oil filter.

Engines produced after the changeover typically use the shorter GEN2 Hengst E1001H oil filter.

Original Malibu 5W-30 Oil Has Been Discontinued

The original Malibu-branded 5W-30 full synthetic engine oil has been discontinued and is no longer manufactured.

This Bakes Online service kit now includes Mobil 1 5W-30 Full Synthetic Dexos engine oil for compatible Malibu M5 and M6 applications.

Using the correct full synthetic Dexos engine oil and oil filter is especially important in Malibu's M-Series direct-injection marine engines.

IMPORTANT: Some Malibu M6Di Engines Now Require 0W-40 Oil

Some Malibu Monsoon M6Di engines no longer use 5W-30 engine oil.

M6Di engines manufactured between March 1, 2021 and May 31, 2024 may be affected by an updated 0W-40 full synthetic oil requirement.

If you own an M6Di within this production range, verify the current oil specification for your engine before ordering a 5W-30 oil change kit.
